From Marantz
Marantz introduces two new network, feature-packed AV receivers: the SR5012 and SR6012. Equipped with the latest versions of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the SR5012 and SR6012 both offer the convenience of multiroom music playback via HEOS integration, in addition to full 4K Ultra High-Definition compatibility to create an immersive home theater and entertainment experience.

Elevating its AV receiver product portfolio, Marantz is releasing the new SR5012 and SR6012 as the first models under the company's 2017 'full-size' home theater range. Designed to sit at the heart of the home entertainment system, both AV receivers feature Marantz's legendary sound quality via its historic audio tuning technology along with premium design. Both systems offer a wide range of capabilities and features to enable reliable network streaming via the HEOS wireless multiroom system, Bluetooth and Apple Airplay are also included for playback from portable devices.

"At Marantz, we strive to create products that boast exceptional audio quality and subtle, yet eye-catching design. Our new line of 'full-size' AV Receivers allows us to provide a wider range of options for those looking to create a premium home theater experience," said Joel Sietsema, senior vice president, brand management at Sound United. "The SR5012 and SR6012 aim to create a one-of-a-kind immersive sound experience that rivals those found in theaters today."

Marantz SR5012: Providing high-definition sound and vision
The SR5012 is not only compatible with a full range of 4K Ultra High Definition video specifications--from 4K 60-Hz video to HDR, as well as Dolby Vision compatibility and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG; via future firmware update)--it also can decode both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D surround sound, to deliver on home theater thrills.

The receiver has eight HDMI (HDCP 2.2) inputs to enable a complete array of high-definition sources to be connected--including Blu-ray Disc players, streaming devices, set-top boxes and games consoles--with 4K video and hi-res audio as well as upscales legacy video sources (e.g. DVD) to 4K.

Packed with the power to perform, all seven channels of the SR5012 are identical in design and built from high-quality discrete components throughout, including the famous Marantz Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAMs). It also features low-impedance drive capabilities to manage complex speaker loads. The SR5012 can also handle digital-to-analog conversion through its eight-channel DAC block, using advanced reference-class 32-bit AKM AK4458VN D/A converters on all channels. This ensures consistent high-fidelity and precise channel matching for more accurate sound.
The SR5012 even creates immersive surround fields from older soundtracks using Dolby Surround and Neural:X processing, as well as being compatible with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD soundtracks for conventional 5.1- or 7.1-channel surround.

Staying true to the essence of Marantz, the SR5012 takes music to the next level, as users can use a wired or Wi-Fi connection to access music through their home network. This includes Internet radio and streaming services such as Spotify Connect, Tidal and Pandora; it can also stream music from a computer or NAS drive at up to 192-kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6 MHz, connected USB storage or direct streaming from a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth or Apple Airplay are also supported. HEOS integration gives the user the opportunity to create a wireless multiroom music system through the SR5012 by simply adding extra HEOS speakers to any room using the HEOS app, providing a fully connected experience.

For optimal performance and customization, Audyssey MultEQ XT can be leveraged to simplify pinpoint-accurate setup and calibration, allowing users to access the optional Audyssey MultEQ Editor App to further refine the setup or tune sound to suit personal preferences. Additionally, the Audyssey Dynamic EQ retains clarity and impact even when the system is playing at low levels, complementing the Dynamic Volume that evens out any jumps between programming and media transitions. Additional features of the SR5012 include an onscreen Setup Assistant to make it easy to install and configure the AVR, color-coded speaker terminals to simplify connections and an Intelligent ECO mode to minimize power consumption without compromising performance. The SR5012 is also ISF calibration ready, allowing professionals to precisely calibrate it for even better video performance with the user's display.

Marantz SR6012: More power, more channels, even more entertainment
The SR6012 takes the SR5012 to the next level with 11.2-channel processing, preouts and extended custom installation features including Crestron Connected compatibility. Its identical nine channels of amplification offer smooth performance during playback and includes Marantz HDAMs to deliver high-resolution quality with both music and movies.

With low-impedance drive for even the toughest speaker loads, the SR6012 can drive 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 speaker configurations out of box to deliver an immersive 3D sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Its 11.2-channel processing even allows 7.1.4-channel to work with an extra two-channel amplifier. Dual-subwoofer capability allows smoother and more dynamic bass reproduction.

Three HDMI outputs allow audio and video to be sent to a second zone, as well as two additional displays (e.g., TV and projector) simultaneously. The SR6012 will also support eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) via a future firmware update to allow object-based audio, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X playback from TV video apps via a single HDMI cable.

The SR6012 has a higher-precision Audyssey MultEQ XT32 setup and calibration and also has extra audio input (five, as compared to four on the SR5012) and a moving magnet phono input to allow a turntable to be connected. Other performance-enhancing additions include an aluminum front panel for greater rigidity, a Hybrid PLL Clock Jitter Reducer for the most accurate audio reproduction, and an extruded aluminum heatsink for more efficient heat dispersion. The SR6012 also features gold-plated connectors and speaker terminals.

“The SR5012 and SR6012 aim to create a one-of-kind immersive sound experience that rivals those found in theaters today.”
Joel Sietsema, senior vice president, brand management at Sound United.

We agree with the above statement, Marantz has exceeded our expectations! The SR5012 (18 990) and SR6012 (R28990) are both available from Sound & Image.

It’s powered by a “discrete configuration” analogue amplifier. The bi-amp system powers each driver individually, sending 45W to each woofer and 25W to each tweeter.

The NX-N500 boasts built-in Wi-Fi with DLNA and AirPlay streaming. The Bluetooth connection not only lets you play music from portable devices but also enables you to send audio to wireless headphones for private listening.

”Ample detail is delivered with delicacy. Voices have a natural warmth, and there’s a spring in this amp’s step that means surround effects are steered with agility and precision around the room.” ‘What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine’. 5-star review.

The AVR-X2400H 7.2 channel AV Surround Receiver delivers incredibly immersive surround sound, plenty of amplifier power and unparalleled music playback options, thanks to built-in HEOS technology. The AVR-X2400H includes the Audyssey MultEQ XT calibration and set-up system, complete with Denon’s new Audyssey MultEQ Editor app which allows you to fine-tune the receiver’s settings. And it can be used with the HEOS system, thanks to HEOS integration.

The AVR-X2400H is a 7.2-channel design, and is rated at 95 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 20 Hz~20 kHz, 0.08% THD from each of its seven channels. It also has built-in decoding for both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for an immersive 3D sound experience. Eight HDMI inputs, including one conveniently positioned on the front panel, feed a video section supporting Full 4K Ultra HD, HDCP 2.2, HDR (High Dynamic Range), BT.2020, Wide Color Gamut and 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, allowing the connection of all the latest devices such as game consoles, Blu-ray players or streaming set-top-boxes. It comes ready for Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma; via future firmware update), and has an advanced video processor to upscale existing lower resolution video to true 4K. Two HDMI outputs mean users can even connect a TV and a projector in parallel.

With its wireless Bluetooth, it plays music direct from portable devices, and has full network connectivity via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Dual antenna and dual-band support. Once connected, the AVR-X2400H has a multitude of playback options, including Apple AirPlay, network attached storage devices (NAS),TuneIn Internet Radio and a wide range of streaming services including Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, iHeart Radio, Sirius XM, Sound Cloud, Tidal, Napster or Deezer . The AVR-X2400H is simple to set up and use with Denon’s exclusive Setup Assistant. It features clear on-screen graphics and text that quickly and easily guide users through the setup process, optimizing critical system settings for the best possible sound quality. Four Quick Select function buttons let the user choose their favorite input sources, and remember preferred audio settings for each source to deliver precisely tailored sound.

Combine your home cinema and multi-room streaming music in one, with the all-talented Denon AVRX2400H. This specific unit is on promotion this December for R12990 (normal price R14 990).
